COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE |
|
WHAT IS
COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE?
COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE is group acupuncture usually with 10-20 people
who sit on chairs and have their ears needled. This treatment helps to
balance the organs and decrease stress. A similar approach is used by
Acupuncture Without Borders in trauma situations such as the
earthquake in Haiti, the disaster in Louisiana during the Katrina
clean-up and other disaster situations.
WHO IS COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE DESIGNED FOR?
COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE is for anyone who wants to decrease stress
and anxiety in their lives, for hypertension, or for those who have a
simple structural issue such as neck, back, shoulder, arm or leg pain.
This is especially helpful for those who have been through traumatic
events such as combat, severe loss, auto or industrial accidents or
falls including head injuries and PTSD. The rates are reduced because
many are treated together, and there is limited paperwork and
consultation. The treatment allows people to try out acupuncture at a
low cost to see if it is appropriate for them. It can also be used to
maintain the healing process in between private, more extensive
treatments.
